New Features in AppMetrics Version 5.0
- AppMetrics now makes use of SQL Server Integration
Services (SSIS), and no longer requires Data Transformation
Services (DTS)
- Remote SQL databases are now supported
- The AppMetrics service may be installed to run under the
local system account, rather than requiring a domain account
- AppMetrics users are no longer required to be
Administrators on each machine
- The ability to automatically recycle or shutdown hung
COM+ application instances has been added.
Using AppMetrics to monitor your COM+ middle tier
applications running on virtual servers is an effective way to
ensure they are operating efficiently, and helps identify any
bottlenecks which might exist.

AppMetrics working together with SCOM 2007
AppMetrics integrates with Systems Center Operations Manager
2007 allowing for continuous monitoring of COM+ application
health in a production environment. With AppMetrics configured
for threshold monitoring of COM+ applications, transactions, and
components, data center operations staff can see at glance
whether their applications are experiencing performance issues,
have hung, or whether any of their applications have experienced
fatal errors.
